Raw Food for Cooked Food Cravings

No need to suffer from Cooked Food Cravings with these Recipes. After changing  the diet to raw food , many people start to have a craving for cooked food after a while . This can be challenging and often causes to break the diet ,all good intentions are gone.

Nobody has to crave ,it is especially difficult for people in the transition from a cooked  food to a raw food diet . But that need not to be so because there is a solution. . Many of this cooked foods can be beautifully replaced with special raw food recipes. See the recipes below and  how cooked food can be replaced.

Many Raw Food Recipes need a Vitamix  Blender to make life easier and  one of the best food processors is the Vitamix 1709

Cacao & Kale Banana SmoothieBaby Kale (2 Cups), Banana (1 peeled)Almond Butter (1 TBSPN heaping), Cacao Powder (1 TBSPN), Cacao Nibs (1 TBSPN), Coconut Water (3-4 cups), Cinnamon (1/2 tspn)

Throw it in the Vitamix, blend til smooth and enjoy! It was so delicious.


Egg Nog– Egg-Less Nog , Latte- Raw vegan pumpkin latte, Lemonade– Mint Lemonade Whip


Mayonnaise- Cashew Mayo, Mustard- Homemade Spicy Mustard, Salt– Dulse flakes, dried celery flakes, or very sparingly pink Himalayan or Celtic Sea salt, Vinegar – Lemon

Unlike flax seeds, chia seeds do not need to be ground get their nutrient or egg-replacement benefits.

– Chia seeds contain no gluten or grains.

Chia Porridge

Serves: 1

Recipe: 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1 banana, 1/2 tsp  cinnamon, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, (Optional for more sweetness) 1 medjool date, pitted, Raspberries, pomegranate seeds, sliced kiwi for topping


1) Pour  chia seeds into a jar with the coconut milk and stir immediately to avoid clumping. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or until it turns into a gel looking like this:

2) Blend the chia gel with the banana and cinnamon until smooth.

3) Pour into a bowl and top with berries, pomegranate seeds and kiwi.

Macaroni & Cheese- Mac & Cheese, Pasta Zucchini/squash noodles spiralized or kelp noodles, Pasta Alfredo-Pasta Alfredo

Pasta Alfredo

You can eat this alfredo pasta by itself but to really make it super filling and nutritious in I like to put it on a bed of spinach or even mixed greens. I like to add greens in when I can, after all it is a great source of high quality protein on the raw food diet, not to mention essential minerals like calcium.

The base for most raw alfredo sauce  is nuts.  I wanted to keep this a lower fat recipe so I used half nuts and half zucchini.  Zucchini adds a nice creamy texture, has a subtle flavor and keeps it much lower in fat. If you prefer you can omit the nuts altogether and just replace it with more zucchini.

Serves 2 large, or 3 smaller plates.

Recipe: For the pasta:

3-4 medium zucchini or summer squash, peeled and spliralized (if you don’t have a spiralizer  you can use a veggie peeler, a Julienne peeler, or a mandolin).  Place the noodles in a large bowl.

For the Alfredo sauce: 1/2 cup cashews, soaked overnight drained and rinsed, 1/2 cup zucchini, peeled and chopped in small chunks, 1 clove garlic, 1 Tbsp Thyme, 1 Tbsp lemon, (optional) 2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast, 1/4 cup water, add more or less depending on the desired consistency

Blend all the above ingredients, except for water, in a blender.  Slowly add in the water until it is desired consistency.  Pour over noodles thoroughly mixing in.  Top with marinated mushrooms.

For the marinated mushrooms: 1/2 cup Cremini mushrooms, sliced, 1 Tbsp lemon juice, 2 Tbsp Olive oil, Garlic powder, sprinkle to taste

Slice the mushrooms and marinate in a small bowl with lemon juice, olive oil and garlic powder.  Marinate for at least 20 minutes. Use as garnish with some basil for the pasta.

Mangia and enjoy!
