Milks from nuts and seeds are incredibly delicious and tasty. These milks are full of nutritions and can be enriched by never ending variety of fruits  .

Preparations

It is recommended to soak nuts and seeds for a minimum of at least 6 hours. This procedure is important to deactivate the germination inhibitors. To prepare 1 l of milk use approx just about 1 dl of dry seeds or nuts.

If you have a sufficiently powerful blender, you do not need to use filter (with few exceptions like unhulled cannabis seeds) as every single piece of nut will be blended. In other cases use some type of filter to get rid of small parts in milk in case you do not like them. If you want the milk warm use lukewarm water but be careful not to exceed the temperature of 42 C.

All tips provide a basic milk as it is. If you want a sweeter taste or nutritious enrichement, add dates, figs, raisins, plums, banana and other fruits you like, dry or fresh. Special flavour can be added by vanilla, cinnamon or selected superfoods according to your preferences. You can also use agave syrup or yacon syrup (this one especially full of probiotics) to sweeten the drink.

Sunflower milk

Hulled sunflower seeds are a very inexpensive and widely available option for vegetable drinks. Suitable also for pregnant women, during growth, and while the nervous strain.

Sesame milk

You can use peeled or unpeeled sesame. Black sesame has a slightly earthy flavor, white sesam is more subtle. The high content of beta – carotene is an excellent for the eyesight. Sesame milk provides the body with organically bound calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. Suitable in depression.

Coconut milk

Can be prepared either from grated coconut, which must be pre-soak, or white flesh of coconut (brown skin to remove). The high sodium content is suitable for hot days or during heavy work or sport, when a person perspires.

 Linseed milk

Flaxseeds eliminate the wet slime and somewhat worse then rinsed. Can be used both brown and golden flax, gold has a somewhat milder taste. Heals intestines. It helps with inflammation. Suitable for vascular disorders.

 Poppy seeds milk

The poppy is good to let soak in cold for at least 24 hours. It contains many highly usable organic calcium. It is preferable to prepare it with hot water. Great prevention of osteoporosis.

 Almond milk

After soaking rinse and peel the brown skin of almonds. If almonds are peeled using higher temperatures it goes very easily and kids often like to participate with this activity. Watch for bitter almonds as they can destroy the entire drink. It is advisable to use hot water. Taste is very gentle and sweet without sweetening. Contains organically bound easily used magnesium.

 Cashew milk

Soak cashews for 4 hours. Indeed thermally unprocessed cashews are not cheap and hard to come by, but the drink of them are among the best in taste. Cashew milk  is very nutritious, contains many B vitamins and magnesium. It helps with depression and anxiety. Suitable for pregnant and lactating women and children.

Walnut milk

Soaked and rinsed walnuts are suitable to mix with hot water. The drink is very nutritious, containing vitamins B and vitamin E. It contains organically bound magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, iron, copper and calcium. Supports blood formation. Protects against heart disease and blood vessels. Suitable for students and knowledge workers.
